Tangier, or Tanger in French, that dazzlingly white Moroccan city, favoured haunt of artists, intellectuals and adventurers. Sheltered by the medieval ramparts of the old town, one can happily lose one’s way in the bustling maze of colourful, winding and steep alleyways of the Medina, lined with houses featuring carved, whitewashed or painted blue doors. Suddenly, a heavenly surprise: the nearby botanical gardens, exuding intoxicating, joyous scents of neroli (bitter-orange blossom), citrusy and tangy; orange blossom, sweet, warm and comforting; and maté with its herbaceous notes.
Fragrance composition: To obtain this scent of neroli, both smooth and refreshing, Sylvie Fischer (of Takasago) drew inspiration from a tropical secret garden planted with ancient trees – bitter orange, orange and lemon — interweaving fruits and flowers. Bergamot and mandarin open the fragrance with a burst of brightness. Mate and musk hold the fragrance on the skin.
