Acqua della Regina bath gel is created to gently cleanse the skin with the use of vegetal surfactants. The soft foam is perfect for the refreshment of a bath and at the same time protects the characteristics of the skin and maintains the natural hydro-lipidic film.

Acqua de la Regina is the oldest fragrance in the collection. It is the perfume that Caterina de’ Medici commissioned the Dominican monks to create in 1533, and she took it with her to France when she married Enrico di Valois. For this reason this fragrance is identified as a perfume rather than with a cologne. It is a bouquet of fresh citrus notes with a base of Calabrian bergamot. The mould for the bottle is reminiscent of the glass bottles Officina has used over the last two centuries of its history, and it is used for all the other Santa Maria Novella colognes which have been created subsequently.
Santa Maria Novella began as a herbal apothecary range of medicinal balms and tinctures more than 800 years ago and has a rich, spiritual history. The products were originally created by an order of Italian Dominican monks, who used the herbs and flowers found in the gardens of their monastery just outside Florence to treat the skin ailments of patients in their infirmary. The ambrette seeds are hand harvested from small parcels scattered within the tropical dry forests of northern Peru. Sun-dried, sifted, cleaned and aired, they eventually release floral and powdery accents together with musk and amber notes.Bois d'Ambrette is a composition around a lesser known vegetal musk: the multifaceted ambrette.
Here, the perfumer Marie Hugentobler chooses to fully express these rich and complex facets. Following the crisp and luminous opening of the mandarin and angelica, the sensual and slightly carnal notes from the ambrette unfold, and settle with restraint and elegance in a base of sandalwood and ambroxan.
