As Part of the intangible cultural heritage site by UNESCO since 2018, Grasse is the world capital of perfume. It is internationally known for its emblematic flowers: the tuberose, the jasmine grandiflorum and the centifolia rose.
Born in Grasse, Georges Maubert has been immersed in the world of perfume since his childhood, and is conscious of the treatment of each local flower, right up to the composition of scents. He is part of the fifth generation of the Robertet company, world leader in natural raw materials. Since 1850, his family has worked in the perfume industry as farmers, chemists, perfumers, and sourcing experts. This ancestral knowledge has been mastered and developed to offer you the most beautiful fragrances.

Since his youth, Georges has been aware of the numerous scents of the Grasse region, especially those of the rose fields and the orange blossom fougassettes of the Maison Venturini. He enjoyed wandering in the Robertet laboratories and playing the apprentice chemist whilst weighing ‘magical formulas’ with the laboratory technicians.

At the age of 14, he did his first internship at the Chanel creation laboratory supervised by the perfumers Jacques Polge and François Demachy. This enriching experience confirmed his interest in the world of perfume. Then, in parallel with his studies at the Instituto Marangoni, he worked as a marketing assistant for the Robertet group in Paris

A rare variety, this white cocoa grows in the heart of the oldest plantations, in Piura, north-west Peru. Extracted by hand from the pods, the beans are fermented before being sun-dried and roasted.An elegant and distinctive fragrance, carried by the choice of an unusual ingredient, the white cocoa.

In order to capture the most beautiful facets of this white cocoa, the perfumer collaborated with a French Maître Chocolatier to obtain the perfect roasting, thus revealing sensual nutty and milky notes, with Tonka bean undertone.

After a sweet rum opening, the perfumer Marie Hugentobler unveils the addictive bitterness of the cocoa, comforted by powdery and woody notes. A dry down of light tobacco, patchouli and sandalwood follows, giving Cacao Porcelana its sensual and unique signature.

In Cedre Figalia, perfumer Céline Perdriel selects three varieties of cedar, each bringing nuance and character to the fragrance. Cedar Virginia, with its subtle and elegant notes, Cedar Alaska, for its invigorating freshness, and Cedar Atlas, for its warm and enveloping aura. A masterpiece of balance and elegance, the combination of those three varieties blends harmoniously with the fig, meticulously crafted here in its entirety to capture the refreshing essence of its foliage as well as the delightful milky sweetness of its fruit.

The fragrance opens with uplifting notes of bergamot and basil, sparked by the spicy and woody facets of Jamaican pepper.

From these humble beginnings the business grew into a chain of shops that quickly became a reference point for luxury personal care in the city.

The skill and craftsmanship were passed on through the generations of the Durante family and in 1996 Celestino and Lucia’s grandchildren expanded the business by creating a line of exclusive fragrances. The Profumum Roma scents are exquisitely crafted to evoke the emotions and memories of their beloved Italy. Directly from Rome we bring you Profumum Roma, a family owned niche perfume brand that make their scent in oil base. The story begins with Celestino and Lucia Durante who after the Second World War decided to move from a small town called Sant’Elena Sannita to Rome. Coming from a family with a long artisan tradition, they used their skills to open a tiny storefront selling interesting fragrances, hand made soaps and other beauty products. From these humble beginnings the business grew into a chain of shops that quickly became a reference point for luxury personal care in the city.

The skill and craftsmanship were passed on through the generations of the Durante family and in 1996 Celestino and Lucia’s grandchildren expanded the business by creating a line of exclusive fragrances. The Profumum Roma scents are exquisitely crafted to evoke the emotions and memories of their beloved Italy. The “angels’ share” is what the House of Hennessy calls the percentage that – inexplicably – evaporates from cognac cellars, like an offering to the gods.

Many of Kilian’s fragrances today carry this childhood memory as they are reminiscent of the sugar in the alcohol and the wood of the cognac barrels

Inspired by the city of Paris, Kilian Paris presents Fièvre Verte by Kilian, a hymn to a legendary Parisian liqueur - Absinthe. The scent evokes the traditional French aperitif hour, that early evening window when absinthe was served with sugar in a glass and mixed slowly with a spoon in a peaceful ritual, during which the liquid takes on a pastel green hue. This shade reappears in Fièvre Verte by Kilian, an entirely natural colour: soft like a Parisian mist, or a Van Gogh painting that comes to life.

The fragrance opens with the essence of Absinthe supported by Violet Leaf and Licorice Root. Its base revolves around a unique raw material, Patchouli. It resonates throughout the fragrance, blending into a marquetry of woody notes composed around Vetiver and Sandalwood. Fièvre Verte by Kilian is a tribute to Parisian celebrations and pleasures.

The bottle of the perfumes of ‘The Liquors’ collection is styled as a speakeasy essential, like an art deco glass to recall the most fabulous bars. The weighted glass is engraved with the emblematic K motif to throw and catch light at all angles, finished with a golden, diamond-shaped plaque signed in white serigraphy. These details bring to the Kilian Paris creation a guarantee of luxury, that should not be ephemeral, but should last a lifetime. As such this perfume is refillable.

Heir to a long line of cognac makers who were pioneers in luxury, Kilian decided to take up the torch of family tradition. Creating a new luxury brand was definitely a challenge worthy of his predecessors.

His childhood haunts included the family cellars in Cognac. Before graduating from CELSA, he wrote a thesis on the semantics of scent, in search of a ‘language’ common to gods and mortals. Remembering the “angels’ share” as part of his heritage, he was led into the world of perfumery. The “angels’ share” is what the House of Hennessy calls the percentage that – inexplicably – evaporates from cognac cellars, like an offering to the gods.

Many of Kilian’s fragrances today carry this childhood memory as they are reminiscent of the sugar in the alcohol and the wood of the cognac barrels

French Flower takes its inspiration from a tale from Provence, where Aurélien was born, that young people who were not married yet were forbidden to walk the tuberose fields at night, because the smell is so sensual and intoxicating. Aurélien wanted to recreate that smell.

Aurélien combined two different extractions of tuberose: an absolute and an enfleurage - extracted from tuberoses organically grown by Matiere Premiere.

The absolute expresses the richness, the power and opulence of tuberose. Enfleurage is a traditional and organic technique of extraction that captures the scent of the flowers in a vegetal wax. It highlights the warm, sensual aspect of tuberose, close to the smell of skin. Ginger Oil Nigeria amplifies the whiteness of the flower. Green Tea Leaf Oil China and a Green Pear accord underline the vegetal character of this stemmed flower.

Aurélien Guichard comes from a line of seven generations of perfumers. He perpetuated this family know how by becoming a perfumer at an early age and recently took over a business of rose grower in Grasse.

Each of his Matiere Premiere creations reflects the respect of an oral transmission collected with great attention and tenderness. He consider perfumery as a way of life, where sense of observation, sensitivity to other and generosity are the qualities of the perfumer. His inspiration comes mainly from the exchanges with the people he meets.

Aurélien Guichard is the son of the famed perfumer Jean Guichard who is the director of the Givaudan Perfumery school and an incredibly accomplished master perfumer who grew up in Grasse, where his father grew flowers for the perfume industry. Following in his fathers footsteps he has created some of the most coveted fragrances for the houses of Guerlain, Tom Ford, Narciso Rodriguez, Gucci, Nina Ricci, Comme de Garcons, to name a few.
