She was to become renowned through her androgynous pen name 'George Sand'. A writer of genius, great lover and committed, she was the incarnation of the first modern woman. For her contemporary heiress, a perfume reflecting her generosity and sensuality. An amber flower bouquet, in remembrance of George Sand's bond uniting her with nature, warmed with the heady spices and coloured by sweet fruits.

The ambrette seeds are hand harvested from small parcels scattered within the tropical dry forests of northern Peru. Sun-dried, sifted, cleaned and aired, they eventually release floral and powdery accents together with musk and amber notes.Bois d'Ambrette is a composition around a lesser known vegetal musk: the multifaceted ambrette.
Here, the perfumer Marie Hugentobler chooses to fully express these rich and complex facets. Following the crisp and luminous opening of the mandarin and angelica, the sensual and slightly carnal notes from the ambrette unfold, and settle with restraint and elegance in a base of sandalwood and ambroxan.

In Greek mythology, ambrosia is the food of gods, brought to Mount Olympus by doves and said to confer immortality and youth. Dambrosia does smell like something only divine beings would consume: a luscious banquet of the ripest pears, figs and cherries on a platter of crushed, blanched almonds with their faintly bitter aroma and all of this dripping in nectarous sweetness.
In spite of the fruity richness, Dambrosia maintains a soft and creamy aura that is never cloying or too sweet and in the deep drydown it becomes a really elegant, slightly gourmand fig weaved through with an airy, weightless sandalwood note.

The story begins with Celestino and Lucia Durante who after the Second World War decided to move from a small town called Sant’Elena Sannita to Rome. Coming from a family with a long artisan tradition, they used their skills to open a tiny storefront selling interesting fragrances, hand made soaps and other beauty products. From these humble beginnings the business grew into a chain of shops that quickly became a reference point for luxury personal care in the city.
The skill and craftsmanship were passed on through the generations of the Durante family and in 1996 Celestino and Lucia’s grandchildren expanded the business by creating a line of exclusive fragrances.
