In Rose Ardoise, the perfumer plays on ambiguities, combining femininity and masculinity, transparency and texture, minerality and sensuality. Each composition is concentrated at 12% which gives the candles this remarkable intensity during combustion. Carefully made with patience, the wax used is a unique blend for each fragrance of natural wax (50% of coco & colza) and paraffin wax (50%), the wicks are made in lead-free cotton. All the fabrication steps take place in Grasse.
To offer the best perfume, Marie Jeanne is involved in every step of the process from the planting to the final fragrance. Enhanced with natural essential oils that are carefully sourced, each one has its own originality. The entire production is hand produced in limited quantities in Grasse.

Born in Grasse, Georges Maubert has been immersed in the world of perfume since his childhood, and is conscious of the treatment of each local flower, right up to the composition of scents. He is part of the fifth generation of the Robertet company, world leader in natural raw materials. Since 1850, his family has worked in the perfume industry as farmers, chemists, perfumers, and sourcing experts. This ancestral knowledge has been mastered and developed to offer you the most beautiful fragrances.
Since his youth, Georges has been aware of the numerous scents of the Grasse region, especially those of the rose fields and the orange blossom fougassettes of the Maison Venturini. He enjoyed wandering in the Robertet laboratories and playing the apprentice chemist whilst weighing ‘magical formulas’ with the laboratory technicians.
At the age of 14, he did his first internship at the Chanel creation laboratory supervised by the perfumers Jacques Polge and François Demachy. This enriching experience confirmed his interest in the world of perfume. Then, in parallel with his studies at the Instituto Marangoni, he worked as a marketing assistant for the Robertet group in Paris

Founder & Perfumer Aurélien Guichard captures an early May morning during harvest in his fields in the Grasse region, when Rose Centifolia flowers are still on the bushes, covered in dew. They exhale a pure, fresh floral scent.
"My goal was to create candles that smell like natural materials, not like candles. I focused on one specific olfactive moment in the life of each raw material – from plantation to transformation. I believe in the raw beauty of things."
Formulated with 95% natural wax, the candles are presented in a 220g format, offering an average burn time of 50 hours. Each candle features a 100% cotton wick (BC-Cotton certified), and is hand-poured in small batches, preserving the olfactive qualities of the concentrates, which are added only at the final stage of weighing.
Each glass, crafted from Czech Bohemia crystal, is individually flame-polished to achieve perfect clarity and brilliance, then hand-lacquered on its inner surface.

Designers of furniture and white ceramics Ivan Pericoli and Benoît founded their company Astier de Villatte in 1996 in association with friends and family. Successor to the Parisian manufactures of the 18th century, satire de village is now the only major studio to keep the tradition of artisanal ceramic production in Paris alive. In 2000, they opened the boutique at 173 rue Saint Honoré, which also presented their other creations for the home: titanium cutlery, borosilicate glassware and above all the wonderful collection of traditionally printed notebooks.

Heir to a long line of cognac makers who were pioneers in luxury, Kilian decided to take up the torch of family tradition. Creating a new luxury brand was definitely a challenge worthy of his predecessors.
His childhood haunts included the family cellars in Cognac. Before graduating from CELSA, he wrote a thesis on the semantics of scent, in search of a ‘language’ common to gods and mortals. Remembering the “angels’ share” as part of his heritage, he was led into the world of perfumery. The “angels’ share” is what the House of Hennessy calls the percentage that – inexplicably – evaporates from cognac cellars, like an offering to the gods.
Many of Kilian’s fragrances today carry this childhood memory as they are reminiscent of the sugar in the alcohol and the wood of the cognac barrels

Late afternoon. The boutique door opens on to the asphalt of Old Paris. An enticing scent immediately floods the premises. A powdery cloud, a few delicate green notes and a jasmine rose accord merge deliciously with the amber and leather atmosphere.
Contains essences of Bergamot, Egyptian Jasmine, Rose Absolute, Ylang-Ylang, Aldehyde Notes, Amber Leather Accord, Powdery Musk.
The wax formulation, plant-based with a touch of beeswax, is unique. Free from paraffin or petrochemical derivatives, and therefore free from soot, its exceptionally supple and tender texture is a guarantee of its purity. The wax, worked for a long time, is perfectly miscible with the perfume, releasing the scent both hot and cold. The wick, woven in pure cotton, ensures combustion without traces, lasting and perfect for 60 to 70 hours, depending on the scent. Handcrafted blown glass tumblers from Tuscany have a transparent, slightly grey colour, and light bubbles, giving them a unique, timeless appearance. Labels and packaging are lead-printed on old presses by SAIG, one of the last typographic workshops in the world.
Precautionary measures:
At no time should any burning candle be left unattended. Keep lighted candles out of reach of children and pets. Keep the wick trimmed to 5 or 6 mm, this length should be maintained throughout the burning process. Ensure that the wick maintains its central position. Extinguish any candle that smokes excessively (check instructions before relighting). Do not burn a candle on a flammable or fragile surface. Do not let a candle burn for more than three consecutive hours.

Created in 1996, Astier de Villatte has many facets:
– An artisanal ceramics workshop in Paris, the only one of its kind, which takes up and modernises the tradition of Parisian manufacturers of the 18th century.
– A typographic printing press in the Paris suburbs, the last in France (and one of the last in the world) to print lead books.
– A publishing house, with three first publications, the atypical guide Ma Vie à Paris, the art book Drawings with the poly-talented artist Lou Doillon and now the new edition of Mitsou de Balthus.
– A perfume creation workshop where, in collaboration with exceptional noses, colognes, incense and a whole collection of scented candles on the theme of an olfactory world tour are invented.
In 2008, it was a novelty, a scented dishwashing liquid launched for fun at the store and sold in the thousands, which propelled them into the magical world of scented products. With their associate, Emilie, in collaboration with Françoise Caron, star perfumer at Takasago, a Japanese fragrance creation company, they launched their Eau de Cologne, their Hand Care and their first collection of scented candles on the delirious theme of a olfactory world tour. Over the years, the collection of scented candles and eau de cologne grew, thanks to the creativity of other highly talented perfumers, including Nathalie Feisthauer, Alexandra Monet and Christophe Raynaud.
Eager to extend the range of perfumes for the home, Benoît and Ivan leave for Awaji, the island of Japan specialised for hundreds of years in the manufacture of the best incense in the world. Thus begins a new adventure, combining the know-how of Awaji’s family workshops with that of the great Parisian perfumers.
More than collaborations, for Astier de Villatte it’s about stories of friendship and aesthetic affinities leading to the creation of a universe that wants to be unique in its kind.

Late afternoon. The boutique door opens on to the asphalt of Old Paris. An enticing scent immediately floods the premises. A powdery cloud, a few delicate green notes and a jasmine rose accord merge deliciously with the amber and leather atmosphere.
Contains essences of Bergamot, Egyptian Jasmine, Rose Absolute, Ylang-Ylang, Aldehyde Notes, Amber Leather Accord, Powdery Musk.
The wax formulation, plant-based with a touch of beeswax, is unique. Free from paraffin or petrochemical derivatives, and therefore free from soot, its exceptionally supple and tender texture is a guarantee of its purity. The wax, worked for a long time, is perfectly miscible with the perfume, releasing the scent both hot and cold. The wick, woven in pure cotton, ensures combustion without traces, lasting and perfect for 60 to 70 hours, depending on the scent. Handcrafted blown glass tumblers from Tuscany have a transparent, slightly grey colour, and light bubbles, giving them a unique, timeless appearance. Labels and packaging are lead-printed on old presses by SAIG, one of the last typographic workshops in the world.
Precautionary measures:
At no time should any burning candle be left unattended. Keep lighted candles out of reach of children and pets. Keep the wick trimmed to 5 or 6 mm, this length should be maintained throughout the burning process. Ensure that the wick maintains its central position. Extinguish any candle that smokes excessively (check instructions before relighting). Do not burn a candle on a flammable or fragile surface. Do not let a candle burn for more than three consecutive hours.

The story begins with Celestino and Lucia Durante who after the Second World War decided to move from a small town called Sant’Elena Sannita to Rome. Coming from a family with a long artisan tradition, they used their skills to open a tiny storefront selling interesting fragrances, hand made soaps and other beauty products. From these humble beginnings the business grew into a chain of shops that quickly became a reference point for luxury personal care in the city.
The skill and craftsmanship were passed on through the generations of the Durante family and in 1996 Celestino and Lucia’s grandchildren expanded the business by creating a line of exclusive fragrances. The Profumum Roma scents are exquisitely crafted to evoke the emotions and memories of their beloved Italy. Inspiration has come from an eclectic mix of Italian motifs including stories of Rome, iconic vacation islands and even a delicious local pastry shop. The resultant scents though seductively layered, are wonderfully simple at heart.

Heir to a long line of cognac makers who were pioneers in luxury, Kilian decided to take up the torch of family tradition. Creating a new luxury brand was definitely a challenge worthy of his predecessors.
His childhood haunts included the family cellars in Cognac. Before graduating from CELSA, he wrote a thesis on the semantics of scent, in search of a ‘language’ common to gods and mortals. Remembering the “angels’ share” as part of his heritage, he was led into the world of perfumery. The “angels’ share” is what the House of Hennessy calls the percentage that – inexplicably – evaporates from cognac cellars, like an offering to the gods.
Many of Kilian’s fragrances today carry this childhood memory as they are reminiscent of the sugar in the alcohol and the wood of the cognac barrels

Founder & Perfumer Aurélien Guichard evokes the precious Saffron harvest in November in northern Greece, beneath Mount Olympus, when crocus flowers bloom purple and their red stigmas are hand-picked at the end of each day. They exude a spicy, vibrant, crystalline scent.
"My goal was to create candles that smell like natural materials, not like candles. I focused on one specific olfactive moment in the life of each raw material – from plantation to transformation. I believe in the raw beauty of things."
Formulated with 95% natural wax, the candles are presented in a 220g format, offering an average burn time of 50 hours. Each candle features a 100% cotton wick (BC-Cotton certified), and is hand-poured in small batches, preserving the olfactive qualities of the concentrates, which are added only at the final stage of weighing.
Each glass, crafted from Czech Bohemia crystal, is individually flame-polished to achieve perfect clarity and brilliance, then hand-lacquered on its inner surface.

Parle Moi de Parfum is all about family. Benjamin Almairac grew up with the stories about perfume that his father brought home from work. He dreamt of creating a venue right in the centre of Paris where the public could discover the finest fragrances that Michel Almairac had always dreamed of creating and staging. It was absolutely obvious! I was steeped in perfume when I was a boy. It was difficult to miss!
Together with Elisabeth, his mother, and Romain, his brother, he designed a space for witnessing the creation of a perfume and discovering that combination of magic and technique, of disconcerting ease and maddening complexity, that Michel describes when talking about his work.

The term ‘Fugazi’ is slang Italian/American for ‘fake’, an ironic name for a fragrance line that champions unique and real innovation. Less ‘fake’ and more an indulgence in ‘fantasy’, as this collection of Extrait de Parfum conjures desire, mystery, and personality. Founder & Perfumer Aurélien Guichard translates into a candle the first step of transformation of Australian sandalwood into perfume oil, when steam passes through the heartwood freshly reduced into powder. It diffuses a creamy, woody, enveloping scent.
"My goal was to create candles that smell like natural materials, not like candles. I focused on one specific olfactive moment in the life of each raw material – from plantation to transformation. I believe in the raw beauty of things."
Formulated with 95% natural wax, the candles are presented in a 220g format, offering an average burn time of 50 hours. Each candle features a 100% cotton wick (BC-Cotton certified), and is hand-poured in small batches, preserving the olfactive qualities of the concentrates, which are added only at the final stage of weighing.
Each glass, crafted from Czech Bohemia crystal, is individually flame-polished to achieve perfect clarity and brilliance, then hand-lacquered on its inner surface.

Born in Grasse, Georges Maubert has been immersed in the world of perfume since his childhood, and is conscious of the treatment of each local flower, right up to the composition of scents. He is part of the fifth generation of the Robertet company, world leader in natural raw materials. Since 1850, his family has worked in the perfume industry as farmers, chemists, perfumers, and sourcing experts. This ancestral knowledge has been mastered and developed to offer you the most beautiful fragrances.
Since his youth, Georges has been aware of the numerous scents of the Grasse region, especially those of the rose fields and the orange blossom fougassettes of the Maison Venturini. He enjoyed wandering in the Robertet laboratories and playing the apprentice chemist whilst weighing ‘magical formulas’ with the laboratory technicians.
At the age of 14, he did his first internship at the Chanel creation laboratory supervised by the perfumers Jacques Polge and François Demachy. This enriching experience confirmed his interest in the world of perfume. Then, in parallel with his studies at the Instituto Marangoni, he worked as a marketing assistant for the Robertet group in Paris

Off the coast of Gabon, in the Gulf of Guinea, nestles the paradisal island of Sao Tomé, with its tourist-free beaches, ancient forests, and timber houses. It is known as Chocolate Island, for the inimitable taste and aroma of the cocoa beans grown on its plantations. The air is filled with the captivating scent of dark chocolate, a delicious hint of bitterness with slightly woody, smoky, and vanilla notes, that delight visitors.
To achieve the intense, distinctive and elegant roasted cocoa scents, the perfumer Nicolas Bonneville used a specific bean of unique quality. The base note was then enriched with woody hints of Atlas cedar, smoky amber Labdanum Vulcain reminiscent of church incense, creamy sandalwood for its enveloping, reassuring quality, and a hint of musk to warm the whole creation.
The best incense in the world is found on the island of Awaji, due to its favourable climate. For more than a thousand years it has been made here by the Koh-shis or Masters of Aromas, a tradition passed down from father to son. They alone perfectly master the four stages of production: the dosage of exclusively natural materials, precious woods, herbs, plants, vegetable resins, and perfume; the kneading of the dough, pressed and worked for a long time, then left to stand for two weeks to soak up the fragrance; the cutting of the dough, rolled into long, narrow ribbons, to the desired size; then drying in the west wind for three days before bundling the sticks.
Precautionary measures:
Light the end of the stick with a match, blow out the flame and leave to smoke. Plant the stick in an incense burner or a bowl of sand. Do not use in a flammable environment. Do not leave burning without supervision. Keep out of reach of children and animals.

Designers of furniture and white ceramics Ivan Pericoli and Benoît founded their company Astier de Villatte in 1996 in association with friends and family. Successor to the Parisian manufactures of the 18th century, satire de village is now the only major studio to keep the tradition of artisanal ceramic production in Paris alive. The story begins with Celestino and Lucia Durante who after the Second World War decided to move from a small town called Sant’Elena Sannita to Rome. His childhood haunts included the family cellars in Cognac. Before graduating from CELSA, he wrote a thesis on the semantics of scent, in search of a ‘language’ common to gods and mortals. Remembering the “angels’ share” as part of his heritage, he was led into the world of perfumery. The “angels’ share” is what the House of Hennessy calls the percentage that – inexplicably – evaporates from cognac cellars, like an offering to the gods.
Many of Kilian’s fragrances today carry this childhood memory as they are reminiscent of the sugar in the alcohol and the wood of the cognac barrels

Santa Maria Novella began as a herbal apothecary range of medicinal balms and tinctures more than 800 years ago and has a rich, spiritual history. The products were originally created by an order of Italian Dominican monks, who used the herbs and flowers found in the gardens of their monastery just outside Florence to treat the skin ailments of patients in their infirmary. Today the range is loved by supermodels and celebrities alike and many of the formulations remain unchanged since the day they were created. In the 18th century, thanks to the efficacy of the many formulas used, the fame of the pharmacy spread world wide. Presently under the direction of Eugenio Alphandery, the tradition is being carried on – production is limited and is meticulously controlled. Only the highest quality natural ingredients are used, and the procedures continue the founding fathers’ tradition. The herbs are organically grown and harvested when their balsamic properties are at their peak, at the end of June, early July. Production is now carried out in state of the art premises about 3 kms to the north of Florence. All the products are made here with equipment that has been specially designed and custom built for each specific product. Heir to a long line of cognac makers who were pioneers in luxury, Kilian decided to take up the torch of family tradition. Creating a new luxury brand was definitely a challenge worthy of his predecessors.
His childhood haunts included the family cellars in Cognac. Before graduating from CELSA, he wrote a thesis on the semantics of scent, in search of a ‘language’ common to gods and mortals. Remembering the “angels’ share” as part of his heritage, he was led into the world of perfumery. The “angels’ share” is what the House of Hennessy calls the percentage that – inexplicably – evaporates from cognac cellars, like an offering to the gods.
Many of Kilian’s fragrances today carry this childhood memory as they are reminiscent of the sugar in the alcohol and the wood of the cognac barrels

Born in Grasse, Georges Maubert has been immersed in the world of perfume since his childhood, and is conscious of the treatment of each local flower, right up to the composition of scents. He is part of the fifth generation of the Robertet company, world leader in natural raw materials. Since 1850, his family has worked in the perfume industry as farmers, chemists, perfumers, and sourcing experts. This ancestral knowledge has been mastered and developed to offer you the most beautiful fragrances.
Since his youth, Georges has been aware of the numerous scents of the Grasse region, especially those of the rose fields and the orange blossom fougassettes of the Maison Venturini. He enjoyed wandering in the Robertet laboratories and playing the apprentice chemist whilst weighing ‘magical formulas’ with the laboratory technicians.
At the age of 14, he did his first internship at the Chanel creation laboratory supervised by the perfumers Jacques Polge and François Demachy. This enriching experience confirmed his interest in the world of perfume. Then, in parallel with his studies at the Instituto Marangoni, he worked as a marketing assistant for the Robertet group in Paris.

Planted in the Arizona desert, surrounded by giant cactuses with amazing shapes, stands Tucson. Wander downtown, along streets lined by colourful houses. Crushed by the heat, take a break in the shadow of a mesquite, watered by a little glass of mezcal. Intoxicating scents of the Far West float in the air: lightly smokey and sweet aromas of wild grasses, parched wood, immortelle flowers, and red earth, burnt by the sun.
Contains essences of Rosemary, Immortelle, Rose, Atlas Cedar, Lignum Vitae, Vetiver, Birch, Labdanum, Oregano, Thyme, Laurel, Black Pepper and Patchouli.
The wax formulation, plant-based with a touch of beeswax, is unique. Free from paraffin or petrochemical derivatives, and therefore free from soot, its exceptionally supple and tender texture is a guarantee of its purity. The wax, worked for a long time, is perfectly miscible with the perfume, releasing the scent both hot and cold. The wick, woven in pure cotton, ensures combustion without traces, lasting and perfect for 60 to 70 hours, depending on the scent. Handcrafted blown glass tumblers from Tuscany have a transparent, slightly grey colour, and light bubbles, giving them a unique, timeless appearance. Labels and packaging are lead-printed on old presses by SAIG, one of the last typographic workshops in the world.

About Astier de Villatte
Created in 1996, Astier de Villatte has many facets:
– An artisanal ceramics workshop in Paris, the only one of its kind, which takes up and modernises the tradition of Parisian manufacturers of the 18th century.
– A typographic printing press in the Paris suburbs, the last in France (and one of the last in the world) to print lead books.
– A publishing house, with three first publications, the atypical guide Ma Vie à Paris, the art book Drawings with the poly-talented artist Lou Doillon and now the new edition of Mitsou de Balthus.
– A perfume creation workshop where, in collaboration with exceptional noses, colognes, incense and a whole collection of scented candles on the theme of an olfactory world tour are invented.
In 2008, it was a novelty, a scented dishwashing liquid launched for fun at the store and sold in the thousands, which propelled them into the magical world of scented products. With their associate, Emilie, in collaboration with Françoise Caron, star perfumer at Takasago, a Japanese fragrance creation company, they launched their Eau de Cologne, their Hand Care and their first collection of scented candles on the delirious theme of a olfactory world tour. Over the years, the collection of scented candles and eau de cologne grew, thanks to the creativity of other highly talented perfumers, including Nathalie Feisthauer, Alexandra Monet and Christophe Raynaud.
Eager to extend the range of perfumes for the home, Benoît and Ivan leave for Awaji, the island of Japan specialised for hundreds of years in the manufacture of the best incense in the world. Thus begins a new adventure, combining the know-how of Awaji’s family workshops with that of the great Parisian perfumers.
More than collaborations, for Astier de Villatte it’s about stories of friendship and aesthetic affinities leading to the creation of a universe that wants to be unique in its kind.
Today about fifty workers, mostly Tibetans, work in the manufacture of ceramics and Astier de Villatte lamps, two people are employed by the printing works, and about fifteen people are divided between the two Parisian shops and the offices.

The best incense in the world is found on the island of Awaji, due to its favourable climate. For more than a thousand years it has been made here by the Koh-shis or Masters of Aromas, a tradition passed down from father to son. They alone perfectly master the four stages of production: the dosage of exclusively natural materials, precious woods, herbs, plants, vegetable resins, and perfume; the kneading of the dough, pressed and worked for a long time, then left to stand for two weeks to soak up the fragrance; the cutting of the dough, rolled into long, narrow ribbons, to the desired size; then drying in the west wind for three days before bundling the sticks.
Precautionary measures:
Light the end of the stick with a match, blow out the flame and leave to smoke. Plant the stick in an incense burner or a bowl of sand. Do not use in a flammable environment. Do not leave burning without supervision. Keep out of reach of children and animals.

'The Rose'
The Tuileries Classic candle finds its inspiration in a rare document kept at the French National Archives: the Gazette des Atours de la Reine. In what seems like an ordinary notebook, countess Geneviève d’Ossun – a French courtier who served as lady-in-waiting and first maid of honour to Marie Antoinette – gathered many fabric samples used to tailor the sovereigns’ many dresses and royal outfits.
The fragrance was conceived as an homage to the rose, the Queen’s favourite flower throughout her life.

HISTORY
In the early months of the French Revolution, Marie-Antoinette and King Louis XVI were forced to leave Versailles for the Tuileries Palace in Paris, which was located across from the louvre. From the 6th October 1789, the reigning family was confined under house arrest, where they would remain until 10 August 1792. Although less well known than the glorious years at the Versailles and Trianon chateaux, this historical period is well documented in public and private archives, many of which
are held at the French National Archives.
Shortly after the Revolution, the Royal Wax Manufacture, under the ownership of the Trudon family, lost its status as supplier to the King and its future was in jeopardy. It was ultimately granted an administrative authorisation to remain in business and even to continue supplying the royal family until its last days.
Between 1791 and 1792, though the Queen was kept under close surveillance after an escape attempt, she still managed to write letters to her confident, Axel von Fersen, a Swedish count, she met in 1774 during a masquerade ball at the Opera de Paris.
The letters have been censored by some actor, scrawling out words and lines with tightly looped circles of ink. Recently scientists have revealed the content of 15 of the censored letters between Queen Marie-Antoinette and Court von Ferson using a technique which can detect the chemical signatures of different inks without damaging documents.
Although the content of the Queen’s correspondence with the count is frequently political, the letters also capture some of the most extreme moments of her life: She’s under house arrest, she fears for her life and her family. The letters show the depth of Marie-Antoinette’s affections for her close friend during her turmoil. Words like “beloved”, “tender friend”, “adore” and “madly” have been revealed. Many historians suspect the Count’s great nephew, Baron R.M de Klinckowstrom, to be the censor, perhaps to preserve his family reputation against rumours. But recent in scan unveils that the mysterious censor is: The Count von Fersen, himself.

Known for its rich aromatics, the Vardhana dynasty’s capital city Kannauj became the center of 7th century trade. Success was not lost on the emperor, Harshavardhana, who imposed a Vetiver Tax. While many remained silent, a band of fragrance masters believed the new tax would be used to fund violence against innocent people and staged a rebellion. Under the cover of night, these rebels covered the city with aromatic oils. Subdued by the fragrant forces of Kannauj, the tax was abolished.
