Map of the Heart
EVERYTHING COMES FROM THE HEART. IT IS OUR ESSENCE.
Our heart is everything pure, good and evil. It aches, it desires, it is who we are. In mapping our heart we are both explorers and tourists, at the frontiers and the centre, navigating the unknown and the all too familiar. We can tread paths travelled and not. If it touches us, makes us ache, challenges and explores what it is to live, then it is for Map of the Heart.
BORNE FROM OUR CORE: THE HEART, MAP OF THE HEART IS HERE TO PROVOKE AND AWAKEN OUR WORLDS.
We present six fragrances: Clear Heart v.1 that smells of natural carelessness and freedom, the intensely haunting smoky black heart v.2, the explosively seductive ripe Red Heart v.3, the immersive and exotic Gold Heart v.4, the triumphant inky Purple Heart v.5 and the narcotic floral Pink Heart v.6. They are fragrances that conjure stories of both place and character: challenging and exploring the idea of what it is to live. Each one journeys us into a very different world in our own heart’s map of: untamed innocence, deep mystery, ripe sensuality, an exotic golden age, selfless courage and optimism, a hyper real narcotic floral.
THE PERFUMER - JACQUES HUCLIER
Jacques is a master perfumer who thinks in scents. He masterfully translated words and images into scents that soar and sing. Each heart has its own distinctive olfactory poetics. As a nod to the brand's Australian heritage he wove a fil rouge of Australian sandalwood into each of the hearts.
"To influence my creative process I let my imagination wander into my olfactory experiences from travelling around the world. It was important to work freely. I gave a different dimension to this wonderful project around the true values of the heart."
THE FOUNDERS - SARAH BLAIR + JEFFREY DARLING
Sarah drinks words for breakfast. She likes to make stuff. Loves the plain and the luxurious jammed together. Loves the luxuriousness of being underwater surrounded by liquid. Loves when a little goes a long way. Smell shorthands everything: a memory, a place, a feeling.
Jeffrey thinks in images. He thinks a good image asks more questions than it answers. Finds the beauty in the ugly and the ugly in beauty. Sarah and Jeffrey have had a long creative relationship in writing, design and film.
